Have you been affected by cancer? Odds are that you probably have. Whether it was you, a friend, a family member, or a co-worker, you know someone whose life was instantly changed the day they were diagnosed with cancer. In 2014 alone, it is estimated that 1,665,540 Americans will be diagnosed, while another 585,720 are expected to lose their battle with this disease.
Cancer is the second most common cause of death in the U.S., behind only by heart disease.
Isn’t it time we fight back? TriStar Electric is happy to announce that we have donated $350 to the 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer, benefiting Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Sibley Memorial, and Suburban Hospitals.
The 2014 Johns Hopkins Ride to Conquer Cancer
The 2014 Ride to Conquer Cancer is a 2-day cycling adventure throughout The Capitol Region’s picturesque countryside. This wonderful event is designed to not only raise money to further cancer research and continue to improve cancer treatment, but also remember those lost to cancer and honor those continuing the fight.

With the help of your donations, the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Suburban Hospital are revolutionizing cancer treatment.
“We are transforming cancer medicine away from a model in which we see patients for the first time when they begin experiencing symptoms to one that detects, manages, and many times eradicates cancers before patients even know they have them.”
The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center is one of only 40 cancer centers in the country designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The work of Johns Hopkins physicians and scientists are ensuring we get the right treatments to the right patients at the right time. These scientists have led the world in deciphering the genetic and epigenetic cause of cancer, and are now developing the technologies that will allow these discoveries to be used day in and day out not just at Johns Hopkins, but at cancer centers around the world.
We would like to thank you in advance for your generous donations!
