Saving Energy in Your New Home

Saving Energy in Your New Home
Did you ever wish that your old residence could be more energy-efficient? Here is a guide to how you can save more energy in your new house.

Congratulations on your new home! This is bound to be an exciting phase in your life as you and your family have a new beginning. Every new home brings a certain set of challenges with it, though. Did you ever wish that your old residence could be more energy-efficient? Here is a guide to how you can save more energy in your new house.

Using Ceiling Fans

Spring and summer are coming. theyre going to be bringing warmer temperatures with them. that means it’s time to give your ceiling fan a workout. that’s because the fan can help circulate cold air and move warm air around on the days where it is much colder than it should be for this time of year. Heat rises while cold air doesn’t, which means you need to find another way to ensure that your HVAC system doesn’t need to work too hard.

Double Checking Seals

Take the time to check all of the seals on your windows and doors. While these might be the most obvious suspects, you probably didn’t realize that air can escape through electrical outlets as well! After you have moved into your new home, take a tour and check all of the seals on outlets, windows, doors, vents, and other openings that might leak air. You might need to call the experts here at TriStar Electric for assistance, but don’t worry, because we can get the job done!

Getting Better Appliances

One final suggestion we have for you is to upgrade your appliances. Pay closer attention to the energy ratings of all the appliances in your home – if it uses electricity, then it has a rating! The better your overall energy efficiency is, the more money you will save. Wow! Just think of what you could do with all of that extra money!
